YOUR BIBLE IS WAITING FOR YOU
Hi, internet friends!
Welcome back to the blog.
This blog has virtually become me telling on myself and documenting my learning moments right in front of you, but in all sincerity, I don't think I'd have it any other way.
This post is inspired by the “numb scroll.”
…FUN.
I often hear people ask the question, “How do you know the Voice of God?” I’ve even asked that question before myself.
However, the answer is honestly a lot simpler than I believe we sometimes make it out to be, or even want it to be, for that matter.
It's the thoughts that are so much louder than all the others that you can’t help but think of God, because there's no way they came from you. (When a thought lines up with the Bible, you can know it’s good and true.) It’s conviction. It’s the Bible. The Bible is quite literally the Word of God, so it’s kind of crazy that we so often avoid that as an answer.
The answer to that question is W I D E R, sure, but I really want to zone in on the third answer.
The Bible.
Here’s my story:
I was lying on my bed doing the classic, “I’m so bored, so I guess I’ll scroll on my phone” scroll. As these situations usually go, I found myself in the state of, “I actually feel numb, but I don’t know what else to do, so I guess I’ll keep scrolling and feel even worse about myself and life.”
I had been aware the entire day that I needed to pick up my Bible and read it, but I could never find myself away from in front of the light on my phone to actually do so.
Yet somewhere in the midst of what was probably a two-hour Pinterest scroll (why is Pinterest the hardest thing to get off of?) The thought, so bold, clear, and louder than all the others,
“YOUR BIBLE IS WAITING.”
rang loud and clear.
As a blogger, my mind immediately rushed to, “That would be a good blog post!” But I quickly realized, “No, it’s for me. I learn it, live it, and then share it.” So, here we are months later, with me extending that same reminder to you:
To simply spend time with Jesus in His Word.
Jesus loves to connect with us in that way, and so many times we ask for answers that are already written. Jesus wants us to come to Him. He wants us to seek Him in all ways, and in every way. Seek and you shall find is a promise, not a maybe. (Matthew 7:7)
We all have an intentional void that is meant to be filled with Jesus. Let Jesus fill the empty spaces in your heart, and let Him replace all that’s not of Him with more of Him. Once you intentionally go all in with Jesus, you will taste and see that He is good. The same with reading His Word- taste and see that It is good because It is from Him, and It is Him (John 1:1)! So, rest in the assurance of Its Goodness!
The Word of God is alive and active, and no matter what the world may say, It is still relevant today.
