THE CHEERLEADER DIARIES
Up until this past year, cheerleading was one of the biggest parts of my life. I mean, seriously! My sister taught me how to do a cartwheel when I was five, and tumbling ultimately became the passion that led me to cheer skirts and pom-poms. I’ve been wanting somewhere to store these pictures so that I will never forget about them and the memories they hold. So I figured, why not put them on the blog? Friends, welcome to the cheerleader diaries!
Seventh grade// My first cheerleading camp.
This is where it officially began. All of sixth grade, my family knew I would want to try out, and what do you know? They were right. And what do you know? I made the team!
Senior year// The last first game.
Before the game, Storm texted me, “Don’t forget your little camera tonight!” She was referring to our disposable cameras because we both started carrying them around.
The results of Storm’s, “Don’t forget your little camera tonight!” text.
I'm not sure why, but this is one of my favorite pictures in the entire world.
These are 100% a close second. This was the Homecoming 2021 pep rally. I don’t know who took these, but I would love to thank them. I would also love to know what we were looking at.
Homecoming 2021// The theme was ‘Stay Gold.’
Just know that I played a lot of ‘Stay Gold’ by Stevie Wonder. On this night, I was crowned Homecoming Queen and cheered at my last HS homecoming.
I wish this picture could convey how cold this game was.
The radio show!! I loved getting to be a part of this. Everything about it reminded me of how much I love speaking!
Simply because our mascots deserve their own spot in this post.
Me + Storm + disposable cameras in hand sums up a lot of how I’ll remember senior year football season.
This picture simply explains cheerleaders in Cracker Barrel.
Screenshots from a video Stormie and I were filming for the new girls on the cheer team. It was of all the cheers. All. The. Cheers. That’s Storm’s reaction when she realized we forgot to start the video, and my phone hadn't been recording that entire time, and we were actually starting it when we thought we had finished. We also laughed till our ribs hurt, which is why I’ll always love these pictures so much. They take me back. I’m not sure why we were laughing. We didn’t even know then, but Storm and I collectively don’t even need a reason. We’re those people who are still laughing twenty minutes after a joke has been said, gotten old, and died.
Senior night,
a great night.
Loved this senior group.
I feel like this picture needs to be included because it’s one of the few pictures I have from basketball season, and I think it’s an art how Madi’s Santa hat is sticking straight up.
Senior year// The championship game.
I was probably overly sentimental when this picture was taken. It was the championship game, which means it was the last football game I would cheer at…EVER? Tears were definitely shed.
Meeting Raven, Tatum, and Krislyn for the first time.
College tryout day// This day pushed me hard in the best way possible.
College cheerleading camp// “Boy meets girl. You were my dream, my world…” Iykyk
Thanks for reading!
